1. The short version

This website sets no cookies at all. It stores exactly one item on your device — your own answer to the consent question — and it makes no requests to any third-party server. There is no analytics platform, no advertising tag, no content delivery network, no embedded video, no social widget, no external font service and no chat tool. Everything the page needs is served from stakeconsulting.net itself.

2. The rules that apply

Storing information on, or reading information from, a visitor's device is governed in Norway by the Electronic Communications Act (ekomloven). Since 1 January 2025, consent for anything that is not strictly necessary must meet the standard set by the GDPR — it must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, and a browser's default settings are explicitly no longer enough. The rules are supervised by Datatilsynet and by Nkom.

Storage that is strictly necessary to deliver a service the visitor has asked for is exempt from consent. The single item below falls in that category: it exists only to remember the answer you gave, so you are not asked again on every page.

3. Everything stored on your device

That is the complete list. It is not an abridged one, and there is no “similar technologies” clause hiding anything behind it. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, look at the Network tab and at Application → Storage, and reload any page on this site.

4. What “allow measurement” actually does

The consent banner offers a choice about advertising measurement. Today, choosing “Allow measurement” activates nothing, because no measurement tag is loaded on this site. What it does is record a permission.

The reason the question is asked at all is Microsoft Consent Mode v2. If a Microsoft Advertising UET tag is ever added to this site — for example to measure whether an advertisement led to an enquiry — it must not fire before a valid consent exists. The site therefore ships with all four consent signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage) set to denied by default, before anything else loads, and they are raised only by an affirmative click. Declining is the default state, and declining is preserved.

5. Changing or withdrawing your answer

Withdrawal must be as easy as consent, so it is one click from this page.

6. What this site deliberately does not do

• No cookies are set, first-party or third-party.
• No analytics of any kind, including self-hosted analytics.
• No advertising or conversion tags are loaded.
• No fingerprinting, no pixel, no beacon, no session replay.
• No cross-site tracking and no data sold or shared with data brokers.
• No fonts, scripts, styles or images loaded from another domain.
• No consent-by-scrolling, no pre-ticked options, no timed auto-accept, and no “reject” button made harder to find than “accept”.

7. Server logs

The web server keeps standard access logs, as any server must in order to operate and to defend against abuse. These are not cookies and are not readable by this website. Their retention and lawful basis are covered in the privacy policy.
