Most structural problems present as decision problems: nobody can say who was entitled to decide, on what basis, or where that is written down. This division works on the written architecture of an organisation — the authority matrix, the reporting lines, the reserved matters, the mandates that a board delegates and the ones it does not. Where a restructuring is already decided, the work is to describe the target structure precisely enough that the client’s own advisers can execute it.
