1. Who these terms are with

This website, stakeconsulting.net, is operated by STAKE CONSULTING, a Norwegian sole proprietorship (Enkeltpersonforetak), organisation number 922 260 443, VAT registration NO 922 260 443 MVA, registered at c/o Kjetil Stake, Blomsterstykket 51, 1390 Vollen, Norway. Contact: info@stakeconsulting.net.

Because the business is an enkeltpersonforetak, it is not a separate legal person: the proprietor, Kjetil Stake, is personally liable for its obligations. Full details are on the company details page.

2. What this website is

This site describes the advisory services STAKE CONSULTING offers. Nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance, a quotation, or advice on your situation. Advice is given only under a written engagement agreement signed by both parties. Reading this site, or submitting the enquiry form, creates no adviser–client relationship and no obligation on either side.

3. Business clients only

Services are offered to organisations — companies, boards, owners, public bodies and other undertakings — acting in the course of their business. They are not offered to consumers. Consequently, Norwegian consumer legislation such as the Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven) does not apply to these engagements. If you are approaching as a private individual, say so before any work is agreed.

4. Scope of services, and its limits

STAKE CONSULTING is registered under Norwegian activity code 70.200 — Business and other management consultancy. It provides business and administrative consultancy. It holds no authorisation from Finanstilsynet and does not provide, and will not accept an engagement to provide:

• investment advice or any investment service under the Securities Trading Act (verdipapirhandelloven);
• external accounting services reserved to an authorised accountant (autorisert regnskapsfører);
• statutory audit or assurance reserved to a state-authorised auditor (statsautorisert revisor);
• legal advice or representation reserved to advocates under the Courts of Justice Act (domstolloven);
• tax returns, tax filings or binding tax opinions;
• estate agency, property valuation, insurance mediation, or debt collection.

Where an engagement needs any of the above, you engage an authorised provider directly. The absence of these authorisations can be checked in Finanstilsynet's register.

5. Work this practice will not take on

Engagements are declined, regardless of fee, where the subject matter is: gambling or betting operations; adult content; the marketing of financial products to consumers; unlicensed lending or debt advice; pharmaceutical, medical or health claims; political campaigning; multi-level marketing or similar recruitment-driven structures; or any arrangement whose purpose is to conceal beneficial ownership, evade tax, or circumvent a regulatory authorisation.

6. No guaranteed outcomes

Advisory work produces analysis, documents and recommendations. It does not produce guaranteed results, and none are offered here. STAKE CONSULTING does not promise cost savings, revenue growth, funding, approval by any authority, or any specific commercial outcome. Decisions remain the client's, taken by the client's own governing bodies, and the client remains responsible for them. Any figure, model or projection prepared during an engagement is an illustration based on assumptions stated alongside it, not a forecast.

7. Fees

No fees, rates, bands or estimates are published on this website. Fees are set out in a written proposal after the scope is agreed, and are quoted exclusive of Norwegian value added tax, which is added where applicable.

8. Confidentiality

Information you disclose in an enquiry or an engagement is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to third parties, except where disclosure is required by Norwegian law. This is why no client names, logos, case studies or testimonials appear anywhere on this site.

9. Intellectual property

The content, design, text and code of this website belong to STAKE CONSULTING. You may read, print and quote from it with attribution. You may not republish it as your own or use it to build a competing offering. Deliverables produced under an engagement are licensed to the client for its internal use as set out in the engagement agreement; underlying methods and templates remain the property of STAKE CONSULTING.

10. Availability and accuracy

The site is provided as it is. It may be unavailable for maintenance and its content may be revised without notice. Register details are reproduced as read on the date shown beside them; the Norwegian register is the authoritative source and may change afterwards. External links are provided for verification and STAKE CONSULTING is not responsible for the content of other websites.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited under Norwegian law. Subject to that, STAKE CONSULTING accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on this website, as distinct from advice given under a signed engagement agreement — liability for such advice is dealt with in that agreement. Indirect and consequential loss, loss of profit, and loss of data are excluded to the extent Norwegian law permits.

12. Complaints

Raise a complaint by writing to info@stakeconsulting.net, or by post to the registered address in section 1. Complaints are acknowledged and answered in writing. Because services are supplied business-to-business only, no consumer dispute-resolution body has jurisdiction over them.

13. Governing law and venue

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from the use of this website, are governed by Norwegian law. The legal venue is Asker og Bærum tingrett, the district court for the municipality in which the business is registered. Nothing here prevents either party from agreeing to mediation first.
